RioBravoFineArt: 110 N. Broadway
RioBravoFineArt, Inc. at 110 N. Broadway, Truth or Consequences, NM, invites you to the exhibition De Reyes y Nacimientos (Of Kings and Nativities). The opening is Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 6:00 - 9:00 P.M.
This exhibition is a show by a group of Puerto Rican artists who all studied at InterAmerican University of San German, Puerto Rico in the 1980’s. The show is centered around the Three Kings, who are an integral part of the Nativity of Christendom. During the Christmas season, the Three Kings play an important role in Latin American cultural traditions. This show provides a look at a story originating in the Middle East, transplanted to the Caribbean, and how it has been transformed by a prominent Hispanic culture.

Truth or Consequences Contemporary: 312 Main
“of fog”
by Melissa Haviland
Please join us at Truth or Consequences Contemporary on Saturday October 12th for this large scale Art installation. It will be installed for one day only and we will have an opening reception for art hop on Saturday evening from 6 to 9 with music by David Colagiovanni.
“of fog” began with an obsession with the Haviland tableware pattern, ‘Elizabeth’, first designed in 1759 for the Empress of Russia and revived in 1950 by the MET for an exclusive run. ‘Elizabeth’ owns a unique design in the world of tableware, reveling in sacred geometry, specifically the torus that symbolizes the interconnectedness of all things and the cyclical nature of existence. “of fog” remakes the ‘Elizabeth’ patten in handmade paper from indigo dyed vintage linens. The piece turns the tableware into a rain shower while contemplating the power of objects in our lives, the insatiability of capitalism, and the healing power of making.
Melissa is a professor of printmaking at Ohio State University – School of Art + Design
