Love Shack: 520 N. Broadway
The work of local artist A.P. Merrill is featured at Love Shack, TorC's new wine/cocktail/beer and wedding/event space. A.P. Merrill's large-scale oil paintings loosely depict quiet back-alley and street settings in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. Drawings of A.P. Merrill's are also on display done with India ink, pencil, and oil-based crayons on old USGS topographic maps - depicting geographic topography intersected with the topography of the human body.

RioBravoFineArt: 110 N. Broadway
July is the last month for the highly successful show The Quest, The Struggle, The Journey by Dave Barnett at RioBravoFineArt, 110 North Broadway, Truth or Consequences, NM. The last day for the full display of this show is Sunday, July 28, 2024.
Over the years, Barnett has done a wide-ranging series of paintings. Most of his paintings use a large format canvas, on the order of 52 inches by 52 inches. To give a good sampling of the many series that Dave has done and to account for the large format canvases, all three of the main floor gallery spaces at RioBravoFineArt are devoted to this exceptional show.
Barnett uses texture and intense color to create bold images of the landscape and wildlife of Southern New Mexico, street scenes in Truth or Consequences, and geologic formations, both large and small. Although Barnett has a distinct style, he can create works with subtle references to such painters as Edward Hopper, René Magritte, Georges Seurat, and Jasper Johns. He is one of New Mexico’s finest and most talented painters.
