Hello from Downtown T or C! As the weather is warming up, it’s the perfect time to come downtown and take stroll through our local shops and galleries. Please keep showing love to all our local shops all year long!

MainStreet T or C is excited to announce our Youth Anti-Litter Sign Design Competition. We’re challenging all Sierra County youth ages 18 and under to design a sign with a positive anti-littering message (for example, “Keep T or C Clean!” rather than “Don’t Litter”). There will be two categories: ages 12 and under, and ages 13-18, with one winner chosen from each category. The winners will receive $100 cash, and their design will be printed on 6 metal signs and posted around town as a reminder to keep our public spaces clean. The deadline for submissions is Friday, March 28. For more details, including how to submit your art, visit www.torcmainstreet.org/anti-litter or pick up a flyer in the front office of any T or C Municipal School District school.

The winning signs will be revealed at our next community litter clean-up, tentatively scheduled for Saturday, April 26. Stay tuned for details about this clean-up event - our last one brought out 47 volunteers who picked up over 660 pounds of trash, and we think we can get even more people out this time!

We’re sure you already have this on your calendar, but just in case you don’t - the 75th anniversary of Fiesta is quickly approaching, on May 2-4, 2025. MainStreet T or C is helping with the event planning, and we’re excited to make this the biggest and best Fiesta in years. A few highlights: legendary meteorologist Steve Stucker will be joining us as Grant Marshal of the Fiesta parade; Metalachi (the world’s first and only heavy metal mariachi band) will be headlining the stage Saturday night; and Mr. Fiesta is always a can’t-miss event (at the El Cortez on Friday of the big weekend). If you are interested in participating as a sponsor, vendor, or parade participant, sign-up forms are available at torcfiesta.com

If you want to hear more about what we are doing, or want to get involved by volunteering on one of our projects, please follow our Facebook page (MainStreet Truth or Consequences), visit our website (www.torcmainstreet.org), email director@torcmainstreet.org or stop by our office, 308 S. Pershing, the Studio de La Luz building.
