Fall is a lovely season to come downtown, do some holiday shopping in our many boutiques and galleries, relax and warm up with a hot springs soak, and enjoy a meal or beverage with friends.
MainStreet has several projects and events happening in November and December that will give you another reason to come downtown!
Saturday, November 30 is Small Business Saturday. Visit our local small businesses for your holiday shopping - keep your money in our community and help these businesses grow and create more jobs! MainStreet and the T or C & Sierra County Chamber of Commerce jointly sponsor a Small Business Saturday promotion: for each $20 you spend at a Sierra County small business on that day, you can enter a raffle to win gift certificates to local shops. To enter the raffle, bring your receipts to the Small Business Saturday table at the T or C Brewery from noon to 8 pm on 11/30, or email a picture of the receipt with the date and total purchase clearly visible, to director@torcmainstreet.org, by 11:59 pm on 11/30.

Old-Fashioned Christmas will take place downtown on Friday, December 13 from 6-9 pm. We’ll kick things off with the Christmas tree lighting at 6 pm at Evelyn Renfro Park, then spread out along Main and Broadway to enjoy the Parade of Lights. After the parade, visit Santa at Healing Waters Plaza, shop at vendor booths at the plaza and at many downtown merchants who will stay open late, and enjoy burn barrels and other festivities throughout downtown. Get in touch with us if you want to participate in the parade or sign up for a vendor spot at the Plaza!
Our Trash Can Painting applications are open! If you are interested in adopting and painting one of the downtown trash cans, more information and the application form can be found at https://tinyurl.com/Trash-Can-Painting. The deadline to apply is December 6, and painting will take place mid-January.
