OUR MISSION:
To preserve and enhance downtown Truth or Consequences
MainStreet Truth or Consequences is a community-based group of volunteers dedicated to the revitalization and beautification of downtown T or C. The Historic Hot Springs District is a destination with unique retail, community activity, performing and visual arts, as well as opportunities for healing and rejuvenation. Our downtown is the heart of the community, rooted in our diverse past and working toward a vibrant and prosperous future. Famous for its natural hot mineral springs, Truth or Consequences also offers dining, shopping, and museums. Surrounded by nature with the Rio Grande flowing right through town and Turtleback Mountain providing a beautiful backdrop, recreational opportunities abound. Enjoy water sports, hiking, eco-tours, off-road adventures, birdwatching, fishing, golf, and so much more.
MainStreet partners with the City of Truth or Consequences, Sierra County Tourism Board, Sierra County Arts Council, and the T or C & Sierra County Chamber of Commerce in the promotion of downtown Truth or Consequences.
As a Main Street America™ Accredited program, MainStreet Truth or Consequences is a recognized leading program among the national network of more than 1,200 neighborhoods and communities who share both a commitment to creating high-quality places and to building stronger communities through preservation-based economic development. All Main Street America™ Accredited programs meet a set of National Accreditation Standards of Performance as outlined by the National Main Street Center.
Since 1985, New Mexico MainStreet has been a powerful force for revitalization of communities across the state. Combining historic preservation with asset-based economic development, New Mexico MainStreet works with local affiliates and partners to re-build resilient Main Streets as the foundation for healthy communities.
